"As we say, doctors are next to God — and we were blessed to meet one of them, Dr. Kalpant Shukla, at Mira Hospital. When our baby was born preterm and had to be admitted to the NICU, our world turned upside down. Those 21 days were the most emotionally challenging days of our lives as parents, but Dr. Shukla made this difficult journey feel safe, guided, and full of hope. From the very beginning, he explained every small detail about our baby’s condition, treatment plan, progress, and the entire journey ahead. He never rushed us and always ensured that we truly understood what was happening. The NICU rules were very strict — only parents were allowed inside, with no visitors — and although it was emotionally difficult, it gave us immense confidence knowing how seriously hygiene, safety, and infection control were taken. It clearly reflected how deeply Dr. Shukla and his team care for every little life in the NICU. Watching our baby in the NICU was heartbreaking, but Dr. Shukla simplified everything for us. He encouraged me to do Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) and patiently explained its importance and benefits. This not only helped our baby grow stronger but also helped me emotionally connect with my baby and regain strength and confidence as a mother. One very special and unforgettable moment for us was when, on my husband’s birthday, Dr. Shukla allowed both of us to see our baby together. He truly made that day memorable for us, and it is a moment we will cherish forever. Throughout those tough 21 days, he answered every single query — even the smallest ones — with immense patience and calmness. On the day of discharge, he spent a lot of time with us and patiently answered more than 50–60 questions without any irritation or hurry. This itself speaks volumes about the kind of doctor and human being he is. We would also like to specially mention the NICU sisters and nurses, who are nothing less than angels. The way they took care of not just our baby but every baby in the NICU was truly heart-touching. Every two hours without fail — diaper changes, feeding, regular monitoring, and regular check-ups — everything was done with such dedication and attention. What touched us the most was that they performed all of this with the warmest smiles on their faces, no matter how long or tiring their shifts were. Their kindness, patience, and gentle handling of the babies gave us immense emotional comfort and trust. Even after we came home, the support did not stop. I called Dr. Shukla multiple times with doubts and concerns, and he always replied and answered our calls. He informed us about an important vaccine, guided us properly, and even helped us get it at the best possible price — something that was never his responsibility, yet he did it purely out of care and concern. He also went out of his way to help us get a discount on the overall hospital bill, which again was not part of his role. Such gestures truly show his kindness, empathy, and genuine concern for families going through difficult times. Some people in earlier reviews have mentioned that he is rude, but we were under his care for 21 long days, and not even for a single moment did we feel anything negative. On the contrary, we experienced only professionalism, honesty, compassion, and dedication. He is truly one of the best pediatricians and neonatologists in the city — someone who always does what is best for the baby. One of the things we respected the most was his honesty. When we asked which baby powder, soap, or products we should use, he clearly said that all products are fine and that he does not promote or brand any specific products. This level of transparency is rare and extremely reassuring. Doctors like him are rare, nurses are angels, and the entire NICU team felt like a blessing to us. We will always be grateful to Dr. Kalpant Shukla and his entire team for taking such loving care of our baby and for supporting us emotionally as parents"
